Winnebago High School Students tour Fermi National Laboratory

WHS Chemistry and Physics students visited Fermi National Laboratory November 18. They took a tour of the research facility including the linear accelerators and the accelerator control room. Students learned about the elementary particles that make up all matter. Additionally, students learned about the Higgs field, anti-matter, and dark energy and how Fermilab is conducting experiments to study dark matter and dark energy. The trip concluded with a question and answer session with a Fermilab Physicist.
