Spring Break March 26 - April 2 - No School

CUSD #323 Spring Break is scheduled for March 26 through April 2.  No student and staff attendance during spring break as well as all school office closed. Classes resume on Tuesday, April 3. 

Important information for Jean McNair Parents

Please plan ahead of time with your child whether you’ll drop off and/or pick up students along the sidewalks in the front OR back of the building.  Behind the school, you can pull right up to the back door and in front of the school, you should pull right up past the front doors to Jean McNair to the northeast corner of the building. 

Jean McNair Elementary Announces Student of the Week Honors

The following students have been selected as Student of the Week recipients at Jean McNair Elementary School for the week of March 12. Students are recognized each week for demonstrating McNair PRIDE.  This includes having a positive attitude, exhibiting hard work, being responsible, and demonstrating improvement in school work and/or behavior.

Jean McNair Spelling Bee Winners

Congratulations to Aiden K., who recently won fifth grade spelling bee at Jean McNair Elementary School. He will be representing our school this evening at the Boone Winnebago Regional Spelling Bee at Harlem High School.

Jean McNair Elementary School Announces Second Quarter Honor Roll

Second quarter has ended at Jean McNair Elementary School so we'd like to congratulate the 30 fourth graders and 24 fifth graders earning straight A honors, along with the 33 fourth graders and 41 fifth graders who have earned A/B honors this quarter.  

Winnebago PE Students rank as some of the best in the State of Illinois

Beginning with the 2016-2017 school year, the ISBE (Illinois State Board of Education) has required all school districts in the State of Illinois to begin fitness testing in four areas for 3 -12th graders. The four areas are aerobic capacity, muscular strength, muscular endurance, and flexibility. 

Winnebago CUSD #323 Building-Bond referendum Information

On March 20, 2018, community members of Winnebago Community Unit School District #323 will vote on a building-bond referendum question, which focuses on critical items mandated by the Health/Life Safety process.

Dear Parent/Guardian: The Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) has mandated that all elementary schools test their drinking fountains and other potable sources of water for lead contamination.

Jean McNair St. Jude Math-a-Thon

This year, Jean McNair fourth graders are showing that they can make a difference by participating in the St. Jude Math-A-Thon.  All money raised will benefit the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.  St. Jude treats children who are battling cancer and other life-threatening diseases, and no family ever receives a bill from St. Jude Children’s Hospital.

Annual DARE Graduation Ceremony

Jean McNair fifth graders participated in the Annual DARE Graduation night on January 20.

Jean McNair fifth graders participated in the Annual DARE Graduation ceremony on January 20. Students completed a 10 weeks of the DARE Program. Retired FBI Agent and State Representative Jim Sacia spoke at the event. Chloe W. was the 2016 Chief George Saladino memorial recipient.
