Winnebago CUSD #323 hosts preschool screening Aug. 2 & 3

Winnebago CUSD #323 will conduct preschool screenings on Aug. 2 and Aug. 3 for children who will be three years old by Aug., 1 2010. Screening are to determine possible eligibility for fall 2010 enrollment in Winnebago CUSD #323’s preschool program. The screening is free and takes approximately one hour and is held at the Winnebago Public Library.

Class lists posted Aug. 20

Class lists will be posted on Fri., Aug. 20 at each elementary school. No student will be placed on a class list if proper documentation is not on file at your child’s school prior to the start of school on August. 25.

Schedule and Student ID pick up day - August 18

Students may pick up their class schedule and student ID on August 18 in the High School Office. The Office will be open 7 a.m - 4 p.m. If the yearbooks have arrived by then, yearbooks will also be distributed on the August 18.

Boy's Track Team takes Second Place at State Meet

The boy’s track team had an impressive showing downstate, taking second as a team and competing well in both field and track events. In discus, Alex Thompson took first. Nathaneal Rittmeyer took third in pole vault. Alex Thompson placed fifth in shot put.

Winnebago High School Seniors hit the races for the class trip. The class traveled to Chicago Indoor Racing in Addison and had a great time. Pictured here the students get ready to race by suiting up.

McNair Principal for a Day

Kaitlyn F., a fifth grader at Jean McNair Elementary, was Principal For a Day. She earned the celebratory position for earning 509.2 points in the Accelerated Reading program.

Poetry Cafe

Students in Mrs. Crandall’s and Mrs. Babbitt’s fourth grade classes hosted a Poetry Café to showcase the poetry projects they worked on this spring. Students wrote and read different types of poetry and then created booklets.

Math-a-Thon

Mathathon at Jean McNair
Twenty fourth graders at Jean McNair Elementary took part in the St. Jude’s Mathathon this year. Together they raised $1,283 for St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.

Winnebago Middle School learns about careers

On Mon., May 24, Winnebago Middle School students were treated to the annual Career on Wheels. People who have careers that are tied to a car or vehicle rather than an office of factory participated. They brought their truck, snowplow, car, or van, and gave our students an idea of what their career was like.
