The Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) requires Illinois students to receive a "full" physical exam within one year of entering any pre-Kindergarten/Early Childhood program, Kindergarten, sixth and ninth grades.
For sixth graders and ninth graders, the full physical examination fulfills the sports physical requirement necessary for participation in extracurricular sports.
