USDA Free Lunch For All Program during Covid Pandemic

The Winnebago School District met with the Illinois State Board of Education regarding the opportunity to participate in the USDA Free Lunch For All Program during the Covid pandemic.

No School January 18 -19

Winnebago CUSD#323 Staff and Students will not be in attendance Monday, January 18 in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day. All school offices will be closed. Students will not be in attendance Tuesday, January 19 due to Teacher In-Service/Remote Planning Day. Teachers will be in the building and school offices will be open. 

Covid-19 Testing Guidance

In order to assist Winnebago families, parents, and staff in need of a Covid-19 test, we have put together a list of the following recommended sites available to obtain testing. Please note that only RT-PCR Covid-19 test results will be accepted:

 

Wellness Screenings

Wellness Screening: All students will be required to complete the District #323 COVID-19 digital Wellness Screening each day. 

Kids Club Update - YMCA Kids' Time starting November 30

Effective November 30, the YMCA of Rock River Valley will be running the Winnebago Kids Club for Dorothy Simon and Jean McNair families. The YMCA will provide after school care (Kids’ Time) at Dorothy Simon and Jean McNair Schools between 2 and 5:30 p.m.

Winnebago School District Launches Safe School Helpline

The Winnebago School District has launched a new service called Safe Schools. Safe Schools is an anonymous reporting service that all students can use to report any inappropriate activity at school. This service also allows students to be connected to mental health services and emergency services in times of a crisis and after school hours.

District Asbestos Notification

Asbestos is a naturally occurring mineral that is resistant to heat and corrosion. Over the years it has been used as an insulation for pipes, floor tiles, and construction materials. Its fibers are too small to see and cannot be smelled or tasted. It was an important part of construction until the 1980's when its toxic effects could no longer be denied.

Letter to Parents / Guardians Regarding the Right to Privacy in the School Setting

Dear Parent(s)/Guardian(s):

If your child has an account on a social networking website, e.g., Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, ask.fm, etc., please be aware that State law requires school authorities to notify you that your child may be asked to provide his or her password for these accounts to school officials in certain circumstances.

District Pest Management Program

The district's pest management program is based on the State of Illinois guidelines. The goal of those guidelines is to control the hazards that pests present to the people and our buildings with as little use of chemicals as possible.
